I'm seriously considering getting my RN and my CWCA wound certification. I have found an online course for the wound care certification but I am still a little curious as to how the online LPN to RN programs work if clinical hours are required and if local sites are available if anyone has done one of these please let me know which one you used and if you were satisfied with the programLooking for advice on Online LPN to RN programs?
You take the course through an online program, but yes clinical work can be done locally. It seems more and more people are taking this route. But you should also check with local universities and compare them to the online option. Look at cost and time to complete.
I would also recommend if you are currently working where you plan to work after completing your RN if they will pay for any of the schools and if they have any preference's. Online vs local university.
As far as which schools, I believe Indian State University offers a program online with local clinicals.Looking for advice on Online LPN to RN programs?
You are right - nursing is hands on. You HAVE to attend every single clinical and lecture or you get kicked out of the program. There must be some type of way for you to work directly with patients during clinicals. So you cannot do an online LPN or RN program. The only things you could do online are the college prerequisites.
Sorry, but nursing requires you to get out there. You cannot earn become a nurse by logging onto a website.
Good luck :)
